Meaning of faith and believe.
Time has come to discard, all out dated religions and start a new one that make sense for all people. Our faith and beliefs in God must be based on reason, logic and science. A person can be religious based on these facts. I believe God is not against science or logical thinking after all He created our body and mind . Evolution is a science and not against any religion or God.
It has been proved that those religions evolved before man started discovering the universe and understanding the workings of our nature, are utter failures. So far religions have not found a way for all men to live in peace. On the contrary, they have contributed suffering more than relief for people.
Not too long ago man believed earth was flat and constant. Sun was made for earth to provide light and rotating earth every day. Fire, lightning and wind were either real gods or tools for gods to punish and reward people. At that time gods used to talk to people, travel back and forth from heaven, get involved with wars in a daily basis. I don’t know what happened to those gods in this age.
All the way through AD 1800, most religions out of ignorance, looked at science and reason as their enemies. Some religions fought so hard to stop scientific developments. Not too long ago, oppression of women, slavery and cast systems were normal way of life in most communities. At that time, man believed in a jealous and angry God prone to violence and destruction. A God getting involved in everyday life of people what man should eat and telling how he should take a bath. A god with partiality and loved earthly gifts and praise. All three major Semitic religions sprang from believing in this God. Even though, Christianity have a kind and loving face of Jesus Christ, but that did not create any kind hearts in its early leaders.
We must accept the fact that all our popular religions developed from the mind set of man lived more than 2000 years back. Most every thing man believed at that time about the world and the universe are nothing but imagined stories for us today. Foundations, for our religions were also laid by those story tellers lived at that time. Man had gone through so many changes in every aspect of his life. Traditions and customs have very short life in the evolution. Changes are unstoppable for us.
Christians would say their God and religion are the correct one Mohammedans would say their Allah and Islam are the real ones. Hindus would not accept both religions mentioned above have any meaning. We have almost equal number of people in each of these religions are canceling out God. In other words, based on the behaviour of Hindus, Christians and Muslims they are all atheists. Any one believing in a wrong god is same as an unbeliever in the eyes of a particular religion. What this means simply, most people on this earth are atheists.
It is the duty of all thinking people to spread Gods compassion and love for all people living today. Let us stop arguing about what god likes and does not. Let us accept the fact that our minds and bodies are not capable at this time to figour out god and where He live. Stop giving too much importance to the stories from past ages. God is love that is all we need to know now. We need a new religion with out buildings, priests, customs, creeds and dogmas. We need a simple religion based on love and forgiveness.
